The Autism Partnership Foundation (APF), a charity organization that strives to help children with autism (ASD) and the Morrison Hill Child Development Centre, a special child care centre, have successfully organized a joint free workshop for helping parents manage their children with autism over the past five weeks. The workshop was designed to help parents understand their autistic children's behaviors and needs, as well as develop their Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) skills to reinforce their child's learning interests and social skills. Furthermore, parents who received the training were able to demonstrate their proficiency in behavioral techniques during the workshop, and thereby illustrating the effectiveness of their interaction with the children. APF will continue to work together with social welfare agencies and provide more training programs for underprivileged families.
Along with numerous therapists, Autism Partnership's Senior Behavioral Therapist Mr Jason Wu provided free parents-child training workshop to nine family groups, giving parents a deeper understanding of autism and the methods for helping autistic children. The training also allowed parents to practise ABA effectively, to be able to encourage child independence and persistency in everyday learning.
The Autism Partnership Foundation is committed to providing free training workshops for underprivileged families with autistic children in the near future, allowing parents to acquire basic skills to support their children at home, manage behavioral problems and improving the quality of family life. APF will be offering four complimentary programs in the upcoming year of 2016, and is pleased to announce that Friends of Asia and UBS will be sponsoring two of the programs. The focus of the courses is to allow parents to fully understand autistic children's behavior and they will be exposed to an intensive training curriculum to understand both the theoretical and practical aspects of ABA. Effective intervention for children with autism will help them to increase cognitive and behavioral functions as well as improve the relationship between parents and children.
The Autism Partnership Foundation is now inviting interested social welfare agencies and schools to promote training workshops among underprivileged families that have been affected by autism as to improve their overall quality of life. Interested parties please contact the APF at 2526 3812.
