APF organises a wide range of activities in this summer. In July, we arranged a visit to the Road Safety Town. It was built with a simulated road environment including different road crossing facilities like footbridge, pedestrian subway, traffic lights, etc. The police officer from the Road Safety Town prepared a tricycle trip for our children. It is a good opportunity to learn how to be a good driver. The children have to comply with the traffic lights and the road signages. Most of them were the first time riding a bike, so they were particularly excited. After the training provided by the police officer, the children could ride safely around the entire Town following the road safety code. Ming was one of the participants who has finished the one-month intensive ABA treatment recently. He used to sit in a baby stroller when going out. We were pleased to see that he can ride a bike by himself without any assistance.
Apart from the simulation training, the police officer made use of the interactive short films to explain different road safety messages to the children. After the visit, we had lunch together and had a good sharing time.
